Diary entry on passing the grade in eighth class

Dear Diary
Today I got up early and said my prayers. Our teacher had told us that today our results for the final examination would be announced. We would get our report cards for our performance in class 8. I went to school hoping to get good news.
When my teacher entered the class she looked and smiled at me. I became a little hopeful. Then she placed the pile of report cards on the table and again looked and smiled at me. My heart started jumping with joy. She said that she was happy to announce that I stood first in the class. I had got A+ in all the subjects. She called me forward and handed me the report card.
As soon as school got over I rushed home to show my report card to my parents. They were eagerly waiting for me near the doorstep. I ran and hugged them. They were very happy to see my report card. They promised to buy a prize for me.
I am so happy. But I should not take my success for granted. So I have decided to start studying class 9 books during the holidays. This will help me to be successful next year also.

Dear Diary
Being a Sunday I got up a bit late and went around to play for some time. Then my mother asked me whether I wanted to go with her to the weekly market. I have not visited the place so far. As we reached the market by auto, I found it was very crowded and people were displaying their materials for sale. Mummy and I went into the market and started buying things. I saw an old building in a dilapidated condition and asked mummy what the building was. She said, “It used to be a primary school and you studied here for one year in your class 1 and the school was shifted to the place where it is now.” I looked at the building and it looked half broken. I started thinking about the time I was in school. Though I was not able to remember clearly my days in school, I felt a bit emotional and I kept looking at the school for long. I will share this with my friends in school tomorrow.
