diary entry on visiting an orphanage home

Wednesday
Dear Diary,
Today was a gala day for me, today was my birthday and for helping children I went to an orphanage home. Once I got really emotional to see all those but at second moment I thought that I should make them feel good. I played with all the children and I also gave them clothes. Instead of cutting cake at home or at hotel, I cut it with the orphan kids. I enjoyed with them to my fullest. They also gave me blessing and hoped for my sound health, really the day was pinkest and I have now decided to celebrate my birthday in orphanage home.... I am tired , I will see you soon
Good night diary

Dear Diary,
I recently went to an orphanage. It was part of a school project so I had to go but I was glad I did as it was an eye opening experience. The orphanage is called "Hopeland" and is located in Delhi. It is in a beautiful landscape. The property is big and the staff is nice and friendly. The children of the orphanage are well cared for as it is a government funded organization. But it made me very sad to see the reality of these children. About 1, children of all ages live there, from toddlers to teenagers. Nowadays babies are easily adopted, but there is a very small chance that a child older than 4 years old will be adopted. There is a certain prejudice against them. I spoke to teenagers there and was shocked to find that some were abandoned while some of their parents died and their immediate family didn't want to reclaim them. I felt like they needed a father's love. Every child I met had a different story and I cried when I heard it. When I went there I realized how lucky I am to have parents who raised me so well and who love me unconditionally. I've decided that I want to raise awareness about adoption through my school project. These children are in dire need of love. I would be happy if someone, regardless of their age, is adopted through my project.
