Dear Diary:

Last week I visited my ancestral village. My granny told me the annual village fair was going on. In the evening she took me to the fair. I was wonder-struck with the bustle, gaiety, and frolic. There were uncountable food stalls; make shift shops selling all kinds of things were center of attraction for thousands of people. Many rides had been put up at the fair. I also took a ride on Ferris wheel. I ate some delicious street food. My granny bought me some souvenirs. By the time we return home it was 9 p.m. I thoroughly enjoyed going to the village fair.

Now, it has been too late. I am going to take a deep sleep. See you soon.

Tuesday,

Dear Diary,

Today I went to the village fair with my grandparents. I can't put into words exactly how marvellous it was. It was such a colourful afternoon and I got such an insight into the culture of Kerala like I haven't ever before. There were series of photos of a period of the state centuries ago and how the same places looked today. We even had stalls where one could buy authentic Kerala cultural artefacts and take it back home as a piece of memory. There was Kathakali and Mohiniyattam being performed live and I was baffled at the coordination with which the dancers were moving their hands. I bought a pair of traditional Kerala earrings. It was a wonderful experience and I wish to come back to visit next year as well.

Yours,

XYZ
