As I do every morning to keep fit, I was cycling down Civil Lines. Saw a red car
parked in the middle of the road. I stopped. The driver kept turning the ignition key
but the car wouldn't start. The man looked helpless. So I decided to help. I found
there was no petrol in his car. He requested me to get some petrol. I agreed. I fetched
some petrol in a can from the nearest petrol station. He asked me to pour it into
the tank. As soon as it was done, he started the car and drove off-didn't pay for
the petrol or even thank me. This was the reward I got for being helpful!
Remember that in a diary you record
1. what you saw or experienced
2. your reactions and your feelings
Remember also:
a diary is always written in the first person (though at times the 'I' is left out)
. the language is conversational and informal
