Diazomethane decomposes to give nitrogen. It is a strong respiratory irritant like Sulphur dioxide. It is a diazo compound and its decomposition is also called Pecman diazo dissociation. It is exported and imported as a liquid under pressure and is yellow in colour with mustard odour. It is also called as aziethylene methane. Formula is CH2N2
