The five causes that led to decrease in ground water less week level are as follow:

1.Lack of replenishment of underground water. New style constructions including roads and buildings totally cover the surface with no chance of water seeping down.

2.because of less number of trees in big cities can't bring rain which leads to lowering of water table in big cities.

3)due to increase in population which leads to global warming and it effect the water table also.

4.Industry being a heavy user of water, needs water for transformation of raw products into finished goods which lowers the ground table.

5. Agricultural activities

India is an agricultural country and agriculture is impossible without water. The water for agriculture is mainly utilised from ground water, rain water and canal water.

6. Industry also uses water for the production of hydro electricity which leads to the loitering of ground table.
