Yes, Antonio agreed to sign the bond.
Because, it was for his dear Bassanio who would sail towards Belmont to woo Portia. Since, Bassanio was very dear to him and he would sacrifice anything for the sake of Bassanio. He did not move back from the dangerous bond which could take away his life if not repaid in proper time.
