no because dobereiners was the classification of elements into groups of these elements each with similar properties such that the atomic weight element was the arithe matic mean of the other two where as
newlands law. of octaves was. a. arrangement of elements in order of increasing atomic weight which it was observed that every eight element had properties similar to those of first just like the eighth not of an octave of music
