Answer:

Explanation:

Gopi is a government officer staying in Delhi, and leads a very good lifedrops with his wife Vasanta and his four children. His mother is a eighty three yer old lady, who has lost her memory with the gradual passage of time and with old age. Gopi never meets her old mother. She lives in Thiruvananthapuram with her widowed daughter Kamalam. Once he drops by his house, when he is visiting Thiruvananthapuram for some official work. Kamalam knows that Gopi has come only for money, by selling his share of land. Gopi's mother is unable to recognise him, but the image of young Gopi is still fresh in her memories, and asks him to get a new red blanket, for the old one which her son ued to use while he was young had tattered and reduced to only threads.

Kamalam and Gopi talk about why he hasn't visited mother for years and she says her brother that it is a boon for her to have lost her memory, or she would have been in extreme pain for the kind of son Gopi has turned out to be.

The author bautifully crafts a emotional drama, representing the delusions of life for a lady.
