Answer:

No

Explanation:

Urbanization will not be more helpful but can be a disaster for India. We have to consider here that India is not Europe, US. We have to bring our own model.

Urbanization is helpful only when it is well planned and well structured (Like Chandigarh, New Mumbai ). But it will take lot of capital to invest which we cant afford. Mostly, people living in these cities comes from upper middle class to rich class. So there is no room for rest of the class as buying house even cost in some 30-40 lacs (as per current rates).

And everybody is well aware of unplanned urbanization. If we do Social Impact Assessment of this we will be in loosing side, as there will be more crowd, pollution and strained transport and blah blah...that we generlly see in big cities.

In my view India should encourage to build new towns. having population around 7000-7500 this will be an economic solution. We have to choose convenient village and make it grow up to proposed strength. This will be a good market for economy, will better address social problems, moreover people can get better access to facilities. We can develop good infrastructure there as per industry concern. It can address most of current difficulties.
