just as we need food, plants need it too. Photosynthesis is the process in which plants prepare their food. Plants need sunlight carbon-dioxide and water to prepare food just as we need some ingredients to cook dishes. They have this thing called chlorophyll which helps in catching sunlight. It is a pigment. Plants prepare food with sunlight, carbon-dioxide and water. Plants get a by produ which is oxygen during this photosynthesis process and they give it out as they don't need it.
