THERAVADA Buddhism was strongly found in Sri Lanka , Cambodia , Thailand...... I think it's closer to India and thus has a kind of pinch of Indian taste whereas MAHAYANA Buddhism was found in Bangladesh , Nepal , Bhutan ...... it spread from India to South eastern part
