The national energy programme was a Canadian policy for influencing the energy development in Canada from 1980 to 1985.
It was created to look out for the energy distribution in parts of Canada by the ministry of energy. This policy was made after the Iran Iraq war in 1979 which deprived Canada from oil.
By these liberalization of the government, Canada was benefitted.
