well even i have studied slave dynasty but for your answer i am not that sure but hope this may help you........

as the slave dynasty was started by Qutb-ud-din-aibak, who was the governor of Mohammad ghori, as governers had power to announce themselves independent after kings or sultans death.

As per my knowledge after nasir-ud-di mahmud, balban was the king. however at his time nobles didnt had any independece or power, so for conclusion i can say that nobels didnt had that great power during slave dynasty.

No the noble did not hold much power during slave dynasty . we can prove it by the example of 2nd ruler of slave dynasty Iltutamish he killed all the nobles who were against his wish
