Totalitarianism, form of government that theoretically permits no individual freedom and that seeks to subordinate all aspects of individual life to the authority of the state. So the dictators appealed to the masses to allow them to have what they want and in return they will gain economic development. They appealed so that they dont force the masses but have allowance to do to whatever they want.
