Yes, it depends.

Sometimes it is easy to share and sometimes it's not. For eg. there are times when I want to listen to music and study because it soothes me and side by side I can study, but I cannot share it with them or else they might think it is distracting me. Sometimes I need some space to study where they understand and they leave me alone so that I can study well. My mother usually understands and my grandfather doesn't, it might be because of the generation gap.
