1. Extractive industries are those which involve extraction of something from natural resources such as mineral from earth, fish from rivers and seas, timber from forest etc.

Genetic industries are concerned with activities like reproduction, breeding and multiplication of for eg. Birds, plants, animals, etc.

2. Following are some of the examples of extractive industries

(i) Farming (ii) Mining (iii) Fishing

Following are the examples of genetic industries

(i) Agricultural activities for the production of crops (iii) Dairy farming

(ii) Animal husbandry (iv) Poultry farming
