         PLASMID DNA
 It is  double stranded
It is circular in structure.
Histone protein is absent.
It never carries a vital gene essential for cell.
.It does not play a role as a genetic factor .

chromosomal DNA

It can be single stranded or double stranded.
It can be linear or circular.
Histone protein is present.
It carries vital genes essential for cell.
It ever acts as genetic factor.
Both exons and introns are available or present.

Introns are not present.

Plasmid DNA

It is always double stranded.

It is circular.

It does not carry any vital gene necessary for cell.

It can replicate independent of main genome.

It does not act as genetic factor.

Chromosomal DNA

It may be single or double stranded.

It is linear or circular.

It carries vital genes necessary for cell.

It replicates with genome.

It acts as genetic factor.
