So rods are mostly found in the periphery of the eye, whereas cones are mainly found near the fovea. Rods do not produce color vision, whereas cones do. So rods are very sensitive to light. In fact, they are 1,000 times more sensitive to light than cones are!!

rode nd cones, there are two types of photoreceptors in the human retina, rods are responsible of vision at low light levels.they do not mediate color vision and have a low spatial acuity.
