The differences between co-polymer and homo-polymer are:

  1. when two type monomers are joined together to form a long chain of monomer ,they are known as CO-POLYMER ,while when a single types of monomer joined with each other to form a long chain of polymer they are known as HOMO-POLYMER.
  2. CO-POLYMER have complex type of structure , while HOMO-POLYMER have single structure.
  3. HOMO-POLYMERS are produced with the help of HOMO POLYMERIZATION ,while CO-POLYMERS are produced by CO POLYMERIZATION .
  4. Some examples are-
  • HOMO_POLYMER : PVC, POLYTHENE, etc
  • CO-POLYMER : poly vinyl acetyl , poly ethylene oxide .
