The difference between combustion and oxidation are:

Oxidation :-

  • It is a process of addition of oxygen, removal of electron or hydrogen

  • It occurs with or without flame and smoke

  • All oxidation are not combustion

Combustion :-

  • It a burning process of a substance in the presence of oxygen

  • It occurs with flame and with or without smoke

  • All combustion are oxidation
