The Differance between sludges and scales is that sludge is salt-containing water that gets concentrated and changes into loose and slimy precipitate. when it becomes hard and adherent it's called scale.
Explanation:
- when sludge begins to form in the inner surface of the boilers it does not do any harmful effects on it. while on the other hand scales are harmful to the boilers.
- Sludges that formed in the bottom of the boiler can be removed easily with regular intervals of time. scales also can be removed from the boilers but either by external or internal treatment or by hammering.
- sludges doesn't cause any clogging or corrosion but scales do.
- The discarding cost of waste increases in sludge. scales increases the maintenance and operation cost.
