Hey dear!!

ARTERIES

Arteries are blood vessels that carry oxygenated blood away from the heart to all the other parts of the body (except pulmonary artery). Their walls are thick and elastic as the blood is pumped out of the heart under high pressure. The passage is narrow as the walls are thick.

The main arteries divide to form smaller vessels calles arterioles. The arterioles divide many times to form a dense network of capillaries.

VEINS

Veins are blood vessels that take de-oxygenated blood from other parts of the body back to the heart (except pulmonary vein). Their walls are thin compared to the arteries as the blood travels smoothly, at low pressure. The passage is wider. Veins have valves that prevent the blood from flowing back.

CAPILLARIES

Capillaries are blood vessels that connect the arteries and the veins. They are about as thin as a strand of your hair. Their thin walls allow oxygen, nutrients, carbon dioxide and waste products to pass to and from the tissue cells.

Hope helped!!
