The difference and similarities between the lines of latitudes and longitudes are as follows-
Differences:
- Latitudes run north-south of the equator, whereas longitudes run east-west of the prime meridian.
- Latitudes are parallel to each other and never meet. Longitudes meet at the poles.
- There are 180 latitudes and 360 longitudes.
Similarities:
- Latitudes and longitudes are imaginary lines used by people to locate places on the earth.
- Both are curved lines.

Differences :-
It run east to west - Latitude
It run north to south - Longitude
There are 181 lines of latitudes
There are 360 lines of latitudes
The largest latitude equator divides the earth into northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere.
The longitude prime meridian divides the earth into eastern hemisphere and western hemisphere.
They are parallel and never meet each other.
They are not parallel and meet at poles.
Similarities:-
The most obvious one is that both, like the equator, are “imaginary lines” drawn on maps by man! Another one is that both are used as standards for identifying a specific location on earth and for navigation. And both are used as the basis for two other standards: Latitude to establish climate zones and longtitude to establish time zones
