l maybe you are asking about difference between small intestine and large intestine I am answering was this small intestine is also known as small bowel which is around 20 feet long and large intestine which is also known as colon or large bowel is only 1.5 metre long is size size small intestine is called small because of its small diameter which is around 3.4 to 4.5 CM only as compared to the large intestine which is 4-6 cm broad the primary function of the small intestine is to absorb or take the nutrients from the digested food by the large intestine absorb salt and water and in small intestine Villi is present and large intestine it is absent small intestine forms the layer of continuous bands of muscle around it and large intestine it is reduced to three types of muscles bands called as taenia coli
