Difference b/w red and laterite soil

Normally both types of soils are also deficient in nitrogen even differences between alluvial soil and red soils. Most importantly Soil Red Soil makes a lot of difference. On the other hand, this soil is formed as a result of weathering of rocks. Apart from that, it is also comparatively less fertile.

⚫Acidic in nature, coarse and crumblyin texture.



⚫Due to lack of nitrogen, potassium and organic elements laterite soil lack fertility and are not suitable for cultivation.



⚫They provide valuable building materials.


⚫Suitable for growing plantation crops like tea, coffee, rubber, coconuts, cacionuts.
