Difference b/w schottaky and frenkel defect
Schottky Defect due to an equal number of cations and anions missing from the lattice whereas Frenkel Defect is due to the missing cations from the lattice sites and occupies an interstitial site.
Schottky effect results in the density of the crystal on the other hand Frenkel effect has no effect the density of the crystal.
Schottky found in the highly ionic compounds with high coordination numbers and where there is a similar size of anions and cations whereas the Frenkel effect found in the low coordination number where the anions are larger than cations in size.
NaCl, KCl, CsCl, CsBr are the examples of Schottky effect And ZnS, AgCl, AgI, AgBr are some of the examples of Frenkel effect
