Answer: speed is a scalar quantity whereas velocity is a vector quantity. Speed can never be negative or zero displacement can be negative, positive or zero. Speed=distance/time

Velocity=displacement/time

Explanation: scalar means a physical quantity having dimensions but not direction.

Vector means a physical quantity having dimensions and directions.
