Extinct species are those whose existence have been lost a couple of million years ago.
Ex : dinosaurs who were believed to be extinct due to a meteor shower a million years ago.
Endangered species are those who are on a verge of extinction and only a few are left in the world.
Ex: lions are hunted on a massive scale and they are on a verge of extinction if the hunters are not stopped.
