The amount of heat energy supplied to a liquid as it boiling point such that it changes into gaseous state without any rise in temperature is called latent heat of vaporisation.
The amount of heat energy supplied to a solid as it melting point such that it changes into liquid state without any rise in temperature is called latent heat of fusion.
