Difference between:- 1. iso alkyl and sec alkyl. 2. Neo alkyl and Tert alkyl


Also please correct me if the structure drawn by me is wrong.​

Structures are accurate!

Secondary group is attachment site for the group on the parent chain is 2^{0} carbon.

Iso group has a standard structure

CH_{3} - C'H-CH_{3} is an iso group

C' is the site where it is attached to the main parent chain.

Similarly Tertiary group is attachment site for the group on the parent chain is 3^{0} carbon.

Neo group has attachment on

(CH_3)_{3} -C-C'H_{2}

C' is the site where it is attached to the main parent chain.

FYI: each point in the zig zag line diagram is carbon and end points are methyl groups.
