B) We are composed of one skeleton that can be divided into two major regions, the axial and appendicular skeleton.
AXIAL SKELETON:
The axial skeleton makes up our central axis and consists of the following bones: skull, vertebrae, ribs and sternum. The axial skeleton is the part of the skeleton that consists of the bones of the head and trunk of a vertebrate. In the human skeleton, it consists of 80 bones and is composed of six parts; the skull bones, the ossicles of the middle ear, the hyoid bone, the rib cage, sternum and the vertebral column.
APPENDICULAR SKELETON:
The appendicular skeleton consists of the limbs and girdles. The human appendicular skeleton is composed of the bones of the upper limbs, the lower limbs, the pectoral girdle, and the pelvic girdle. The pectoral girdle acts as the point of attachment of the upper limbs to the body. The upper limb consists of the arm, the forearm, and the wrist and hand.
