A solution is by definition, a mixture of two or more compounds or elements. There is no individual unit ( atom or molecule ).
A compound is a chemically unique combination of two or more elements which are bonded to each other by chemical bonds. The molecule is the smallest individual unit and has all the chemical properties as shown by more of the same.
