Conduction is a process in which heat is spread across a medium via the transfer of energy from atoms to atoms.
This phenomenon is seen when a metal object is heated at one end, and the rest of the object gradually gets heated too.
Absorption on the other hand, is the entering of molecules in bulk into a solid state material, as seen in absorption of water by plant roots.

Difference between absorption and conduction:
Absorption:
- The phenomenon through which the water and the nutrients present in the soil enter the plant is called as absorption.
- The root system is involved in absorption.
- It is involved in water and mineral entry and is single way process.
Conduction:
- The process through which the nutrients move form shoot to root and root to shoot is called as conduction.
- The shoot system is involved in conduction.
- It is a double way process.
