Well in direct current the magnitude and direction of current is constant
In alternating current the magnitude and direction reverses periodically
Dc cannot be used on large scale of electricity for household purpose but ac can be used
The frequency of Dc is zero but ac is 50 hz in India

In direct current (DC ), the electric charge ( current ) only flows in one direction. electric charge in alternating current ( Ac ), on the other hand, changes direction periodically. the voltage in Ac circuits also periodically reverses because the current changes direction.
