AC-

  1. Safe to transfer over longer city distances and can provide more power.
  2. Rotating magnet along the wire.
  3. Frequency is 50Hz or 60Hz depending on the country.
  4. It reverses direction while flowing in current.
  5. It is current of magnitude varying with respect to time.
  6. Electrons keep switching directions - forward and backward.

DC-

  1. Voltage of DC cannot travel very far until it begins to lose energy.
  2. Steady magnetism along the wire.
  3. Frequency of direct current is zero.
  4. It flows in one direction in the circuit.
  5. It is the current of constant magnitude.
  6. Moves steadily in one direction - forward.
