In direct current (DC), the electric charge (current) only flows in one direction. Electric charge in alternating current (AC), on the other hand, changes direction periodically. The voltage in AC circuits also periodically reverses because the current changes direction.

AC Current-

  • In AC, electrons keep switching directions, sometimes going "forward" and then going "backward".
  • The magnitude of AC changes with time and direction of alternating current reverses periodically.
  • We use AC currents for our HOME power sockets.

DC Current-

  • In DC, the electrons flow steadily in a single direction, or "forward."
  • The magnitude of direct current is constant and flows in one direction only.
  • DC stands for direct current means it has a fixed amplitude and no frequency.

Thank You.. ✌️
