● An acid is the substance which produces hydrogen ion when it is dissolve in the water.
ex : HCL , HCOOH
● A Base is the substance which produces hydroxile ion (OH) when it is dissolve in the water. Base is the hydroxide of metal accept an ammonium hydroxide
ex : NaoH , KOH

1.Capable of donating H+ ion during reaction.
2.Turns blue litmus to red.
3.Has pH value less than 7.
4.Tastes sour.(Don't try it ! xD)
Base:-
1.Capable of donating OH- ions during reaction.
2.Turns red litmus to blue
3.Has pH value more than 7.
4.Tastes bitter and slippery to touch.(AGAIN:Don't try it out!xD)
