ACIDIC SUBSTANCE :

• When added o water, it releases H+ ions and when it is added to metal then there is a release of metallic salt and Hydrogen.

• Acidic substance are sour in taste.

• Turns blue litmus to red.

BASIC SUBSTANCES:

• When added to water it produces H- ions.

• Basic substances are bitter in taste

• Turns Red litmus Blue.
