types:

Active Immunization

* produce by one's own body

* provides effective and long lasting protection

* immunity effective only after a certain time gap

* induced by infection or by contact with immunogenes

Passive Immunization

* received from outside

* protection is less effective and does not ensure against a subsequent infection

* immediately effective
