Active Transport moves ions from low concentration to high, using metabolic energy in the form of ATP. ..
Passive Transport (or Diffusion) moves ions from high concentration to low, using no metabolic energy.

here to help u...
While active transport requires energy and work, passive transport does not. There are several different types of this easy movement of molecules. It could be as simple as molecules moving freely such as osmosis or diffusion.Passive transport is a movement of ions and other atomic or molecular substances across cell membranes without need of energy input. Unlike active transport, it does not require an input of cellular energy because it is instead driven by the tendency of the system to grow in entropy. hope u help
