Acute diseases.- an acute disease doesn't effect your body much and is considered a short term disease..

e.g.,common cold, cough, etc.

Chronic disease.- a chronic disease effects your body at a high level, and is considered a long term disease this disease my be life long..

e.g., tuberculosis, cancer, etc.

• The diseases that last only for very short period of time are called acute disease.

For example :- Common cold which last only for a few days.

• An acute disease do not cause major effect on general health.

• The diseases that last for a long time or for life time are called chronic disease.

For example :- Infection causing Elephantiasis, Asthma, tuberculosis, diabetes etc.

• The chronic disease are more severe and has adverse effect on body than acute diseases because they cause poor functioning of some part of the body. Resulting in drastic long term effect on people's health.
