Difference between aerenchyma and chlorenchyma in tabular form

Parenchyma is divided into two parts i.e.,aerenchyma and chlorenchyma.
Aerenchyma-it is found in the aquatic plants.
Chlorenchyma - it is found in plants which make their food by the process of photosynthesis.

Aerenchyma and chlorenchyma are derived from parenchyma.

These two consists of some differences:

Aerenchyma:

  • It is mostly found in the type of  aquatic plants.
  • Large spaces of air could be found in the cells of plants or leaves, exchange of gases is done through the shoots and roots.

Chlorenchyma:

  • It is found in the type of plants which make their food by the phenomenon of photosynthesis.
  • The cells contains chloroplast which helps in the food making process.
