PHOTOGRAMMETRY: The usage of photography for mapping and surveying of objects surveying and mapping to find measurements.
Aerial photogrammetry:
- To capture photos from a height, a drone or an aircraft called Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) specially designed to with cameras attached to it.
- For accuracy and statistics a large number of pictures are taken which further helps in comparison of the quality.
- The specially designed aerial vehicle fly over the landmarks which are to be captured and the aircraft speed which regulates the camera's catching speed.
Terrestrial photogrammetry:
- Terrestrial photogrammetry is a type of photogrammetry which deals with photographs which are taken by the cameras placed on the earth surface.
- The cameras used in this photography are handheld cameras, mounted on tripods, or cameras which are positioned from towers or other specially stands.
- The camera’s position is elevated, and the tilt angle, the length of the focus of the lens is adjusted.
