Aerobic respiration takes place in presence of oxygen. It produces high amount of energy around 32 ATP of energy. It takes place in mitochondria. It usually takes place in higher organisms like human beings. Anaerobic respiration takes place in absence of oxygen. It produces low amount of energy around 2 to 3 ATP. It takes place in cytoplasm. It usually takes place in smaller organisms like amoeba
