1. Aerobic means with oxygen whereas anerobic means without oxygen.

2. In aerobic respiration, glucose is completely oxidised to carbon dioxide and water whereas in anaerobic respiration glucose is incompletely oxidized to ethanol or lactic acid and carbon dioxide.

3. In aerobic respiration 38 ATP of energy is released whereas in anaerobic respiration 2 ATP of energy is released.

4. Aerobic respiration occurs in cytoplasm and mitochondria whereas anerobic respiration occurs in cytoplasm or muscle cell.
