The aerobic respiration takes place only in the pressence of oxygen and the later is required to carry forward the reaction. This means the aerobic respiration takes place in a oxygen rich environment. The end product of aerobic respiration is carbon dioxide and water and the amount of energy released in the form of ATP( adenosine triphosphate)

Anaerobic respiration takes place in the oxygen deficient environment. This respiration takes place when the body has no or less oxygen supply. Example: decomposition, alcohol fermentation
