Difference between Algae and Fungi :

ALGAE :

➦ Chlorophyll Present.

➦ Photosynthetic organisms synthesizing their own food.

➦ Are almost aquatic ,found in fresh as well as marine water.

➦ Body not differentiated into root, stem and leaves, and known as a thallus.

Example - Spirogyra , Ulothrix,etc.

Fungi :

➦ Chlorophyll absent.

➦ Heterotrophic organisms usually living on dead and decaying organic matter and are called saprotrophs.

➦ Are mostly terrestrial i.e. growing on land.

➦ Body is composed of thread like structure called hyphae,and is known as a mycelium.

Example - Aguricus, Penicillium,etc.
