Difference between altitude and height of a triangle

    Altitude and height are both same for a triangle, in general. They both refer to the length of perpendicular from a vertex onto the opposite side (base).

   But if the triangle is standing on a vertex and not on a side (base) then the height changes. But the altitude always remains the same.
