amoebiasis = is also known as Amoebic dysentery
- it caused by an intestinal endoparasite, Entamoeba histolytica, found in large intestine of human
- housefly act as mechanical carriers and transmit the parasite from faeces of infected person to the food
- infection takes place through contaminated food and water

Filariasis= is also known as Elephantiasis
- it is caused by filarial worm , Wunchereria bancrofti and wunchereria malayi
- female Culex mosquito is a vector
- symptoms
- inflammation of organs in which they live
- blockage of lymph vessels of lower limbs resulting in swelling
- lower limbs appear like legs of elephants
- genital organ may be also be affected leading to deformation
